When we asked Dan to come and help our team, we did not feel in any dire straits or emergency; and we weren't. We were clear on our organisation's mission, vision and values, we knew the direction we were going and felt good about it. We didn't know what we didn't know - and that was the clarity we felt as an organisation as a whole was not reflected in the workplace itself. There was a lot of assumption, a lack of clarity in communication and expectations, and while there was a lot of grace given to fellow workmates, a lot of grace was needed!

Dan was able to help us identify frustrations in the workplace that we were unaware of, and also where we were kicking goals. This was great information, and he walked us through solution focused analysis to minimise the opportunities for frustration. Then, we could get the whole team together, validate their concerns but also show that together, we could do something about them.

Dan delivered above and beyond what we asked of him at our recent AGM! Being a businessman himself and having experiences similar to those of the people in the room was a great compliment to Dan's message. He relates to business owners on a very deep, personal level and the 'wow' moments during his keynote were too many to count. Our group left feeling inspired to be better - better planners and goal-setters, better communicators, better business owners and better team managers. When we started with Dan, we had transitioned from one business into a new business and were feeling a little overwhelmed.

Daniel has helped us to focus on building the foundations of our business. As we all know without good foundations everything cracks and falls apart. Through his coaching, we have been able to identify who we are, and why we get out of bed every day. This has been key to us becoming better at the management and leadership of our staff. We have seen a massive change in our staff who are taking onboard the direction and culture that we are bringing into our business. I even have staff quoting our vision mission statement when discussing things with us. It has made us feel like we are back in the driving seat and controlling where we want to go.

Dan was able to explain things clearly and used stories that were relevant to our situation to help us understand. From the content in the course, we now have a framework to work within and have implemented many of the strategies that he has shown us and it is clearly working. The whole program is well worth your time and effort and is relevant to any business. We did not understand how important “culture'' is and now understand as a business owner - ‘if you are not setting the culture then someone else is’ - and how detrimental this can be for your business. Dan has provided us with the tools to clearly communicate, helped us identify our strengths and weaknesses, and provided support and patience while we built our foundations so that we now can continue to grow with structure and purpose.

I have really enjoyed working with Dan from 1000 Feet Deep to set the direction of the organisation, improve and develop our Staff and Culture since February 2020. It has been one of the best investments I have made.

I have been in business for 25 years and found that my business was stagnating rather than growing in the direction that I had envisioned years ago. I found myself working in the business, instead of on the business. I was not leading the business and felt like giving up, this is all too hard. Communication has always been a struggle within our Company however Dan has given us the tools to better understand how and why the importance of communication is the key to any successful organisation. I have found that as I have grown through my partnership with Dan, my staff have grown which in turn flows onto our customers experience that they are receiving.
